Parke Heritage High School [2] was created from the consolidation of former high schools in North Central Parke County, Indiana, Rockville, and Turkey Run. The school's fight song was composed by Ashley Brown, who taught at Parke Heritage for two years. She combined elements of the two schools' songs plus other elements. [3]
Parke County lies in the western part of the U.S. state of Indiana along the Wabash River. The county was formed in 1821 out of a portion of Vigo County. According to the 2020 census, the population was 16,156. [1] The county seat is Rockville. [2] It has a population density of about 39 inhabitants per square mile (15/km 2). [3]
Rockville was laid out in 1824, three years after the county was founded, and became the county seat. In 1825, its population was between 500 and 600. The residents voted to incorporate the town in July 1854. [6] The Rockville Chautauqua Pavilion and Rockville Historic District are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. [7]

[3] According to the Constitution of Indiana, no county may be created of less than 400 square miles (1,000 km 2), nor may any county smaller than this be further reduced in size, which precludes any new counties. In 1867, the library's law books were transferred to the Supreme Court to begin the Supreme Court Law Library, which has grown to 70,000 volumes. [3] The library became its own institution in 1841. The State Board of Education gained control of the library in 1895, with the Department of Education gaining control in 1933.
