Uplands School was a co-educational independent school based in the coastal town of Poole, Dorset on the south coast of England. It consisted of a junior school (ages 2–11) and a senior school (ages 11–16). In 2009, the school merged with Wentworth College.
The school became a mixed school for 12- to 16-year-olds in the 1970s, reverting to an entry age of 11 in September 2013, as part of Poole's re-organisation into a two-tier education system. In the late 1980s the school became a 'technical high school', and its name was officially changed to Poole Technical High School in the early 1990s.
Founded in 1905 as a co-educational school at Ashley Cross in Parkstone by William Ernest Brennand. It was an independent school until Dorset Council took it over in 1935 [citation needed] Two years later, the schools in Poole were reorganised, and the boys from Parkstone Grammar were transferred to Poole Grammar School, and the girls who were at Poole Grammar transferred to Parkstone Grammar.
