Maktab Rendah Sains MARA Taiping (مكتب رنده ساينس مارا تايڤيڠ; commonly known as MRSM Taiping) is a premier co-educational boarding school established in 1983 under Education and Training (Secondary) Division of MARA (Majlis Amanah Rakyat, Malay for People's Trust Council).
The college began its first few years as one of the first Maktab Rendah Sains MARA to be established by the organisation in 1972. 150 male students from all over Malaysia were enrolled in its first intake. During this time, the institution offers only the standard Malaysian curriculum for secondary students ranging from Form 1 to Form 5.
MRSM Terendak was established in cooperation between Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) and the Ministry of Defence.It shares the same vision and mission of MRSM but with a priority towards enrolling selected children from the military families.
The school is built on an 86.06 acres (34.83 ha) area within Feldajaya Utara. The school is the most expensive and the second-largest MRSM school in Malaysia, and can currently can accommodate up to 1000 students from the age of 13 (Form 1) to 17 (Form 5). Some of the local refer the school as MRSM Trolak after the nearest township.
Overall results are released shortly after the release of Repeat 1, Repeat 2 and Semester 3 results. In the overall results, each subject is graded based on the weighted average marks of all papers in the subject. If a candidate has repeated a paper, then the higher mark between the original and the repeat paper will be taken. [3]
