Founded in 1947 by Jesuit missionaries from Baltimore , Maryland , in the United States, the school provides students with an education from kindergarten (KG) to 12th grade.
Loyola College of Education, Jamshedpur, began as a college of Xavier School of Management in Jamshedpur in 1976 and in 1992 received its own campus in Telco, Jamshedpur. [1] In January 2021 the college was closed.
The school is affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education, Jharkhand, India. The school is run by the Chinmaya Mission and is a part of Chinmaya Vidyalayas . The school was established under the patronage of Tata Motors (then Telco ) which helped the school with basic necessities like power and water supply.

In 1960, Fr. Joseph Edamaram, S.J., the first Provincial of the Jesuits in the independent Kerala province, helped found Loyola School and the adjacent Loyola College of Social Sciences in Thiruvananthapuram. [1] In June 1961, Loyola School was established at Palayam, with Fr. K.V. John S.J. as the first Principal and 36 students on the rolls. [1]
