Polling divisions in Sri Lanka are subdivisions of the country's electoral districts.From the 1st parliamentary election in 1947 to the 8th in 1977, members were elected to the parliament using a first-past-the-post system from these polling divisions.
Kurunegala electoral district is one of the 22 multi-member electoral districts of Sri Lanka created by the 1978 Constitution of Sri Lanka. The district is conterminous with the administrative district of Kurunegala in the North Western province .

Divisional secretariats are the third-level administrative divisions of the country and there are currently [as of?] 331 divisional secretariats in Sri Lanka. [1] They were formerly known as D.R.O. divisions, after the divisional revenue officer. Later the D.R.O.s became assistant government agents and the givisions were known as A.G.A. divisions.
