Renaissance Academy has been repeatedly reviewed by Baltimore City Schools for closure or relocation. Initially based in the campus of the former Southwestern Senior High School, City Schools officials first began proposing moving Renaissance to the sites of Harlem Park Middle or Edmondson-Westside High School.
