[10] Settled by Europeans in 1788, the city is located on the northern side of the confluence of the Licking and Ohio rivers, the latter of which marks the state line with Kentucky.
Many communities within the Cincinnati – Northern Kentucky metropolitan area are considered by local residents to be neighborhoods or suburbs of Cincinnati, but do not fall within the actual city limits, Hamilton county boundaries, or even within Ohio state borders.
As of the census of 2020, there were 1,523 people living in the neighborhood. There were 795 housing units. The racial makeup of the neighborhood was 88.0% White, 2.2% Black or African American, 0.0% Native American, 3.9% Asian, 0.0% Pacific Islander, 0.2% from some other race, and 5.6% from two or more races. 2.3% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.

The former St. Francis Seminary is an historic building located at 10290 Mill Road in Springfield Township in the northern suburbs of Cincinnati, Ohio, United States. The population of Monfort Heights was 12,070 at the 2020 census. In previous censuses, the area was listed as two separate CDPs, Monfort Heights East and Monfort Heights South.
