FashionTelevision, also known as FT, is a Canadian-produced special interest show focusing on fashion. The show, created by Jay Levine in 1985, was last hosted by Jeanne Beker. Production of the broadcast ended on April 11, 2012. The program was originally a local production of CITY-TV Toronto, the original Citytv station.
The channel was licensed by the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) in 1987 by Rogers Cable and CUC Broadcasting. [4] [5]The channel launched on September 1, 1988, at 7:00 p.m. with the first program being a special party celebrating the launch of YTV, hosted by John Candy. [6]
The channel was launched as Nickelodeon on November 2, 2009, at 6 a.m. using the "YTV OneWorld" license. [2] Jacob Two-Two was the first show to broadcast. On the day of the channel's launch, Discovery Kids (which Corus also owned) was shut down and replaced by Nickelodeon on most pay-TV providers after the last episode of Aquateam ended. [3]
