This template displays the current UTC year, month, day, and time in YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM format. It is most useful in User pages, when you want to display the current time. It generally should not be used in articles, since a fixed time is usually desirable. It does not display on talk pages, where a fixed time stamp is needed.
If the time zone is omitted, the template defaults to displaying UTC. Exceptions: Sometimes, two different time zones have the same abbreviation. As we cannot change them, a little trick must be used for lesser-used ones. Instead of using the template above, you must use the following template: {{subst:Time zone|timezone continent}}

The first variable of the template is required and can be UTC with or without an offset, GMT, or your time zone's abbreviation. The second variable is the image you wish to use. There are four images to from which to choose, or you can leave it blank, and your time zone's abbreviation will be displayed where the image would be.
