A well cared for truck, of any sort, that hasn’t been repeatedly pushed beyond its capabilities is fine though. If you’re a big person you’re sort of forced into the larger vehicles. If you are under 6ft tall though and don’t have major towing needs, check out the V6 version of the Colorado, that thing is fun as shit to drive. 300 ...
Idk what I will get for my truck, and I plan on selling my little personal plow truck too. So if you guys have any good input on what a decent price I could get for either would be nice. I see rotted pieces of shit with 190k on them from 99' selling for 8 grand sometimes. I just want to unload my old truck and get a new one and get the deal ...
The Cummins are a great motor wrapped in a mediocre ram pickup truck. Frankly I'd hope a 2016 has been reliable, he'll my 2004 hummer H2 (chevy motor and transmission) has been reliable despite having 165k miles and being in two car accidents, being used to tow my horse trailer and used as an offroad toy and all the normal shit life has thrown ...
I'm looking to buy a used light duty truck for home project work. Having subbed to r/justrolledintotheshop there seem to be a number of terrible design decisions made in the trucking industry over the last 20 years I'd like to avoid. From what I've seen my budget can be a truck between 94 and about 2007 and all about 100K or more miles ($4K-$7K).
Toyota 100%. If used, just Google the frame rust issue on Tacomas for affected years or ensure frame was replaced under warranty if you are considering the affected years. I always recommend annual oil spray rustproofing in the spring/summer after blasting the salt/brindle off if you live where salt/brine is used.
I’m looking for a good diesel pickup as a trailer hauler and general pickup duty in the $10,000 range. Right now I’m looking for a ‘06 duramax in particular but I see enough other pickups show up that I’ve started to question. What are good diesel pickup options? I’m open to most anything as long as it’s a good quality vehicle.
Thinking of buying a truck - looking at either brand new (if you can talk me out of it - please do so) or a gently used truck (maybe 1-2 years old with a reasonable amount of miles). I've looked at consumer reports and looks like other than Toyota and Honda the better truck is the Ram 1500.
In general, buying a truck to use as your only daily when you don't need to routinely carry/tow with it is a horrible idea financially. You'll pay a lot more for maintenance, repairs, insurance, gas, and upfront cost. On top of that, the used truck market is crazy right now so everything is pretty inflated (more so than used cars in general).
Slightly used pickup truck debate I've been looking for a new truck, want features like adaptive cruise, 360 camera and a long box/larger gas tank. I've ended up on these two trucks, concerned on the reliability of both with their turbo engines.
If you get a truck old enough it won't depreciate at all. There's a price floor on running utility vehicles. I have an 86 Toyota and it'll be worth 3-5k till the engine explodes. 18MPG, I think the most expensive part I've put in it is a $90 radiator. It's a little truck but the same idea applies to full size
