5 February 1968: 24-year-old police detective D. Munusamy was stabbed by two men seven times after attempting to arrest their friend under suspicion of being a gang member. Although he was able to wound one of the assailants by shooting him twice, Detective Munusamy was mortally wounded and he died twenty minutes after reaching the hospital.
