Llano County (/ ˈ l æ n oʊ /) is a county located on the Edwards Plateau in the U.S. state of Texas. As of the 2020 census , its population was 21,243. [ 1 ] Its county seat is Llano , [ 2 ] and the county is named for the Llano River .
It also was known as Southern Pacific Railroad—Fairland to Llano branch. The historic district is generally a linear 30-mile (48 km) strip along the railroad with a 100 ft (30 m) width of the right-of-way for the tracks. The three exceptions to this are the Fairland wye, the Antlers Hotel in Kingsland and the original depot in Llano, Texas. [3]
The Badu Building is located in the City of Llano, Llano County, Texas. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places listings in Llano County, Texas in 1980, and designated a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark in 1981. [2] It has also been known as the Badu House and as the Carol Phelan Building.
