Brick is a 2005 American neo-noir mystery thriller film written and directed by Rian Johnson in his directorial debut, starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Brick was distributed by Focus Features , and opened in New York and Los Angeles on April 7, 2006.
Atticus Shaffer (born June 19, 1998) is an American actor known for playing Brick Heck on the ABC sitcom The Middle (2009–2018), as well as for voicing Edgar in the film Frankenweenie (2012) and Ono on the Disney Junior series The Lion Guard (2016–2019), and for his brief appearance in Hancock (2008).
He is an odd character who helps Brick bond with his peers and try to fit in more at school. An insecure man himself, Dr. Fulton is obsessed with his ex-wife Shelly, whom he mentions nearly every time Brick talks to him for "help". In season 8, he tells Brick he is dating a 68-year-old woman named Barbara, whom he prefers to call "Shelly".
The film received generally positive reviews from critics, who praised the voice acting, direction, humor, soundtrack, and animation. However, the movie was a commercial failure; it grossed $10.7 million on a $16 million production budget.
Due to the critical and commercial success of the film, it launched a franchise, and its sequel, The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part, was released five years later, while its spin-offs, The Lego Batman Movie and The Lego Ninjago Movie, were released in 2017, with an animated television series titled Unikitty! premiering in the same year.
