Mount Tremper, officially known as Tremper Mountain and originally called Timothyberg, is one of the Catskill Mountains in the U.S. state of New York. It is located near the hamlet of Phoenicia, in the valley of Esopus Creek. At 2,740 feet (840 m) in elevation, it is well below the higher peaks of the region.
Mount Tremper is situated to the east of New York State Route 28 and to the north of New York State Route 212, within the Catskill Park. The community is located at 42°02′41″N 74°16′32″W / 42.04472°N 74.27556°W / 42.04472; -74.27556
The Mount Tremper Fire Observation Station is a historic fire observation station located on Mount Tremper at Shandaken in Ulster County, New York.The station and contributing resources include a 47-foot-tall (14.3 m), steel frame lookout tower erected in 1917 and a jeep trail that extends from the base of the mountain to a point below its summit.
