The Epiphone Thunderbird Pro IV has a seven-piece (walnut-maple-walnut-maple-walnut-maple-walnut) neck with neck-through construction. It also has the Epiphone T-Pro bass humbucking pickups with custom active electronics and EQ. The Epiphone Thunderbird Pro V is the five-string version of the Thunderbird Pro IV.
The Epiphone Blackbird is the Epiphone Company's variant of the Gibson Thunderbird bass with a couple of differences. It still has the black hardware, a single on/off switch with no volume or tone knobs, a mahogany body with a flat-black finish, the normal Gibson Thunderbird bridge with an "opti grab" handle added, a 1.5" wide nut, and a similar (if not exactly the same) pickguard.

I really wish there was a citation for the statement, "Due to the large amount of wood under the strings and pickups, this bass has a very high output volume, even more so than many active basses such as the Fender Deluxe Jazz Bass," as I'm pretty sure the high output of a thunderbird bass is due to the TB+ pickups, and has nothing to do with the amount of wood under the strings.
