Marcus Llewellyn Ward (5 August 1875 – 9 January 1963) was an American dentistry academic. A native of Howell, Michigan , Ward was born on 5 August 1875, and attended county schools. After graduating from Fenton Normal College, he was a county schoolteacher for five years, then enrolled at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry .
Ward was started on May 1, 1956, in the Lincoln School in Livonia, Michigan. In 1960, Ward relocated to the corner of Farmington and 6 Mile. As the church was growing, Ward kept expanding. In 1972, an 1,100-seat sanctuary was opened, and in 1978, Knox Hall, the Calvin Room, and Children's and Student ministry spaces were completed.

Eber Brock Ward (December 25, 1811 – January 2, 1875) was an American industrialist, iron and steel manufacturer, and shipbuilder. Ward invested in several industries in Michigan and the Midwest. He started as an owner of steamship interests, and later accumulated woodlands , as well as lands that contained iron ore , copper and silver .
