    Because if this is really the definition of subgum, then subgum is not a useful word. 22:54, 30 November 2017 (UTC) on top of which, most usage in the US is as "subgum chow mein" and "subgum chop suey", each of which are usually more expensive than the other chow meins and chop sueys.
