Sonar all of a sudden stopped working : r/steelseries. Weird... Before Sonar seemed to work ok. I would open "GG", head to the "Mixer" Tab and then the "Game" tab and clicked on "Headphone (3-Arctis 7 Game) and my Windows Sound Playback was set to "SteelSeries Sonar - Gaming" and everything worked fine... Now I have all that sleected BUT there ...
Windows Update broke the software. While the Chat and Gaming and Voice options exist in places like Discord, the software itself no longer has a drop down option for any of those under the Sonar section. The only option available within the software is the drop down labeled Headphones (Arctis 7+). The options; SteelSeries Sonar Microphone ...

Well about 3 months ago I started experience issues with the Steelseries GG software, sometimes my headset won't work at all (even when the device is set to it in the software) and it has been happening repeatedly. To repair sonar i just turn on the Steelseries GG app and go to Sonar TAB. Then for all categories (Game, Chat, media, microphone) on Mixer TAB set Arctis ...
So for the Chatmix to work I set the 'Game' (or 'Gaming') profile for my main sound output, and in i.e. discord I set the sound output to the 'Chat' profile. Then using chatmix I can modify the balance between those 2. So check the Sonar settings and pick appropriate devices in different apps. EDIT: not sure that actually solves it for you but ...
Fix that worked for me was Steelseries gg -> Settings -> Disable Sonar -> Turn on and connect headphones -> Reenable soar. I'm having this exact issue with nova wireless sonar and my Razer headsets on my alienware x17. This seems to be widespread issues. I'm going crazy trying to fix it.
