Richard Franklin Colburn (February 9, 1950 – December 27, 2024) was an American politician who was a Republican state senator for District 37 in Maryland.
The drummer position was briefly filled by Richard Colburn, [2] before Jonny Quinn joined as full time drummer. In 2001, the band were joined on tour by songwriter Iain Archer, who performed guitar and backing vocals. [3] In 2002, Archer was replaced by Nathan Connolly who became an official member. [4]

Additionally on March 10, 1998, Senator Max Cleland (D-Ga.) entered a tribute to Thompson, Colburn and Andreotta into the record of the U.S. Senate. Cleland said the three men were "true examples of American patriotism at its finest". [2] In 1999, Thompson and Colburn received the Peace Abbey Courage of Conscience Award.
The Colburn School is a private performing arts school in Los Angeles with a focus on music and dance. It consists of four divisions: the Conservatory of Music, Music Academy, Community School of Performing Arts and the Trudl Zipper Dance Institute. Founded in 1950, the school is named after its principal benefactor, Richard D. Colburn. [2]
