Preble County (/ ˈ p r ɛ b əl / PREH-bəl [3]) is a county located in the U.S. state of Ohio. As of the 2020 census, the population was 40,999, [4] down 3.0% from the 2010 census population of 42,270. [5] Its county seat is Eaton. [6] The county was formed on February 15, 1808, from portions of Butler and Montgomery Counties.
Born in Abbeville County, South Carolina, Cunningham moved to Eaton, Ohio, in 1826. He taught school. He studied medicine and commenced practice in 1829. He served as clerk of the court of Preble County in 1833. Cunningham was elected as a Democrat to the Twenty-ninth Congress (March 4, 1845 – March 3, 1847).
