Sioux Falls (/ ˌ s uː ˈ f ɔː l z / SOO FAWLZ) is the most populous city in the U.S. state of South Dakota and the 118th-most populous city in the United States. It is the county seat of Minnehaha County [10] and also extends into northern Lincoln County.
All Saints Historic District encompasses a 70-acre (28 ha) area just south of the Sioux Falls Downtown Historic District.It is roughly bounded by 14th and 23rd Streets to the north and south, respectively; between Main and Phillips Avenues on the west; and between 1st and 2nd Avenues to the east, with an additional eastern portion roughly between 18th and 21st Streets and 5th Avenue.
The Village of Sioux Falls, consisting of 1,200 acres (4.9 km 2), was incorporated in 1876 by the 12th legislative assembly of the Dakota Territory, which convened in the territorial capital of Yankton. The village charter proved to be too restrictive, however, and Sioux Falls petitioned to become a city.
Turner County is a county in the U.S. state of South Dakota. As of the 2020 census, the population was 8,673. [1] Its county seat is Parker. Terrace Park, historically known as Covell Lake Park or Phillips Park, is a 52-acre (21 ha) public park on the shores of Covell Lake in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Founded in 1916, its modern name is derived from its steep terraces. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places as Terrace Park and Japanese Gardens in 2015. [1]
The Queen Bee Mill is a ruined mill complex located in Falls Park in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Opened in 1881, the mill operated intermittently for several different owners during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. A 1956 fire led to the site's demolition, leaving the ruins that stand today.
