The Bernie Mac Show (often shortened to Bernie Mac in syndication) is an American sitcom television series created by Larry Wilmore, that aired on Fox for five seasons from November 14, 2001 to April 14, 2006. The series featured Bernie Mac and his wife Wanda raising his sister's three kids: Jordan, Vanessa, and Bryana.
In the end, Bernie discovers that Jordan has been using him and he reconciles with Vanessa. In the final scene, Bernie takes back the iPod he bought for Jordan and delivers a farewell message to "America". Mac died a couple of years later from pneumonia on August 9, 2008.
His success helped him land The Bernie Mac Show, which ran for five seasons from 2001 to 2006 and nabbed the actor four NAACP Image Awards for outstanding actor in a comedy series.
His character on The Bernie Mac Show was ranked No. 47 in TV Guide 's list of the "50 Greatest TV Dads of All Time". [10] During his run on the show, Mac had co-starring roles in the Ocean's trilogy (2001–2007), Head of State (2003) and Bad Santa (2003), as well as starring roles in the baseball-themed film Mr. 3000 (2004) and Guess Who?
