Mueang Khon Kaen (Thai: เมืองขอนแก่น, pronounced [mɯ̄aŋ kʰɔ̌ːn kɛ̀n]; Northeastern Thai: เมืองขอนแก่น, pronounced [mɯ̂aŋ kʰɔ̌ːn kɛ́n]) is the capital district (amphoe mueang) of Khon Kaen province, northeastern Thailand.
It is bounded by other subdistricts (from the north clockwise): Mueang Kao and Don Han in its district, Non Som Bun in Ban Haet District, and Don Han in its district again, with Nong Waeng in Phra Yuen District, respectively. Tha Phra has a total area of approximately 55.5 square kilometers or 34,687.5 rai. [2]

Tha Phra railway station is a railway station located in Tha Phra Subdistrict, Mueang Khon Kaen District, Khon Kaen Province. It is a class 3 railway station located 439.81 km (273.3 mi) from Hua Lamphong railway station. [1] [2] The station was rebuilt in 2019 as part of the double tracking project between Thanon Chira Junction and Khon Kaen. [3]
The Nam Phong district is surrounded by Non Sa-at (in the Udon Thani province), Kranuan, Sam Sung, Mueang Khon Kaen, Ubolratana, and Khao Suan Kwang.
