I gave All my birds away in Oct 2007--did not keep records of who got which bird. Just last month I Had --a white Delbar cock- came back.---Had no Idea who I gave the bird too. So --I called another flyer who was NICE enough to come get it. SO-that may be the reason you are not getting any return calls--If the owner is still even Alive
After spending much time trying to re-capture it, I never did. The bird was wise to what we were trying to do and it became impossible even to get close to it. This bird still had some spunk though it was obvious it needed help. So, PLEASE once you capture the bird, be careful it can't get loose, as it can be a life or death situation.
A banded pigeon has been frequenting our feeders in Chevy Chase, Washington, DC for some time. I have learned that the number NKC 621 2008 represents Washington Combine Flyers, for which the contact person is William Howard Link (3464 Plum Tree Dr., Ellicott City, MD 21042, tel. 410-418-5170), but repeated calls have not been answered.
ok, i'll do my best. he's eating with the wild pigeons again so hopefully he will leave with them and go sleep where they do. he has made it pretty far he's about 40 miles from home. no one has called me back about him, poor guy. if he doesn't leave i will take him to a rescue where i took the last pigeon that ended up at my house, i swear they know i will take care of them!!! also the rescue ...

A frequent recommended dosing for pigeons of Clavamox is 125mg/kg q12h, so this calls for a bird weighing 300 grams to receive 37.5mg of Clavamox every 12 hours So the dose is 125mg/kg twice a day. A bird weighing 250grams would get 30mg "twice a day".
LOL! It's Murphy's Law, ya know. I've been taking care of this bird for a week, trying to get him to go home and nada. No calls either. Nobody seemed to know the owners. Then, I finally post about what do do with the bird, and my phones rings. Someone knows someone. After a half dozen phone calls, the owner is found! They are coming to get the ...
Thanks for clearing it up! Yes I wouldn't be happy if the bird was constantly trying to get rid of it. I'm planning to build a loft in the future, because I'll move in a bigger house with a nice barn. But this will happen in one year from now so the bird has to wait and it really bothers me to make him wait alone in a cage for most of the day.
I wouldn't release the bird. As you say...there are hawks around and a single white bird will stand out and be an easy target. Do you have a feed store near by where you can post a found notice? Don't give the band number. If someone calls, let them tell you the number on the band.
My problem is this bird will fly home (near Phila) and I don't know if there is anyone there to take care of him. I have tried to contact the club member from Phila I spoke to and he is not returning my calls. I have the bird in a large bird cage (I could almost fit in it) I got him pigeon food and grit. The cage is in my garage.
