Just finished installing a Ryobi 3302m with crestlines (altra) in my small shop, where I had previously been running a hamada one-color duplicator. There are a lot of things about this press that are alien to me, and these are the (probably dumb) questions I have that aren't addressed in the service or operation manual.
The water system on the Ryobi 3302H is really a bad design and it takes lots of tweaking and parts to keep it running. Even when properly tuned it takes forever to get a saleable sheet and maintain a consistent balance. I have been told that Ryobi does not even offer that water system any longer on the 3302H.
Re: About Ryobi 582H Ryobi made a 562 Perfector but never a 582 in a Perfector. The 582 has one large double diameter impression cylinder and for a Ryobi perfector it would need a single-double-single transfer cylinder configuration between the first and second units (impression cylinders) so perhaps the sales information is incorrect.
I have been running 8mil poly material ever since a bought the press. Metal will register better but poly will work fine once you get the hang of it. Auto Plate loaders, powder spray with IR dryer, Royce chiller, Ryobi continous dampners, plate punch, and Ink Console all come with the press. Let me know if you need any more info. SW
Ryobi 3302H user Manual - Google Search It is not very likely that a press owner would have either manual as pdf. I once had a 3302 bought brand new, and it came with printed manuals. You already saved money on the used press, now spend a little to get the operator's manual direct from Ryobi. Al
Ryobi is backwards on their thinking. They say a 3.5 mil stripe to the plate and a 3 mil stripe to the oscillator. Should be reverse I always did about 3 mil to the plate an about 3,5 to the oscillator.
Al I have been printing for about 20 years. Many moons ago I ran a multilith with the same type of feed board, so I'm a little familiar with this type. I usually run a Ryobi 2800 2 color, a Halm jet press and when the other pressman is on vacation I run a KBA performa 74, 4 color press with a coater. I've been printing 4 color for about 4 years.
Right now Ryobi is dealing big time we just bought a Ryobi 524gx brand new for $280,000 fully loaded you cant add anything else to this press. Right now we have a Hamada A252 14X20 we run all of our 4 color on and it runs great if you can find a used get it. BTW The Hamada A252 is a Hashimoto with Hamada covers on it Hamada did not make this press.
9800/9910 in good shape No electronics just 2 switches and 2 AC motors. The little Ryobi’s use inverters and a black box. Ryobi copied the direct in feed style of the AB Dick and in my humble opinion did a poor job. It is like some people prefer USA made cars, some people prefer Imports.
