The 2024 RFL Championship, (officially known as the Betfred Championship for sponsorship reasons), was a professional rugby league club competition. The second tier of the British rugby league system comprises 14 clubs – 13 from England and one from France.

At the end of 2024 the Championship would reduce in size to 13 for 2025 while League One would increase to 10 in 2025.

The promotion play-off match was contested by the winner of the Championship Grand Final and the last placed team of the 2024 RFL Women's Super League, and took place on 6 October as a double-header with the Grand Final of the Super League. [5] [22] [23] Leigh Leopards defeated Featherstone Rovers 34–16 to earn promotion to the Super League. [24]
The club finishing bottom played-off against the winners of the 2024 RFL Women's Championship for a place in the 2025 RFL Women's Super League. [2] This match, which was also played on 6 October, [ 3 ] saw Leigh Leopards promoted from the championship, after they won 34–16 against Featherstone Rovers .
