Apple - Find Locations - Location Selector. Turn off Macbook Air ,close lid for 1 minute ,open lid then plug usb c cable back in.This worked for me.This is sort of a NVRAM or SMC reset for M1 Macs.Battery no charge problem was fixed doing this so it must work.

  3. How many watts does the M1 MacBook really need?

    forums.macrumors.com/threads/how-many-watts-does-the-m1...

The 30W charger from the MacBook Air definitely doesn't have enough power to supply both USB-C and USB-A ports on my Caldigit SOHO dock. My M1 MacBook Air goes to sleep when using clamshell mode if I plug in an ethernet adapter and then a thumb drive. I guess if the charge falls off, the power circuit thinks the MBA isn't plugged in to the charger.

  4. Is 20w adapter enough to charge and operate M1 MacBook Air?

2019 Macbook Air, 18W charger: - Will slowly charge with normal tasks (Safari, Pages, Keynote). - Won't charge when using apps that use a lot of resources (like FCPX editing). - Will slowly lose battery percentage when pushing the laptop (like FCPX rendering) With M1 Air and 20W charger it will be only better than this.

  5. In terms of the display, I have an LG 27up600 4K display and I connect it with a certified USB-C to HDMI cable directly to the M1 MacBook Air and it has been working flawlessly. This display was a recent purchase about a month and a half ago. Before that, I was using my old Apple 27" Thunderbolt display which also had no issues.

  7. How long do you think the M1 MacBook Air will last?

Jul 16, 2024. #1. I purchased my very first Apple product back in December 2023, it's this MacBook Air with an M1 chip, 8GB of RAM. By far, this is the absolute BEST laptop I've ever had in my life, it really is everything I have ever asked for. Now that that's out of my chest, I wonder what you'll think about this particular laptop's lifetime.

    418. Mar 6, 2024. #11. I tend to believe that the best OS has to be the one that comes pre-installed with the machines the first day they're launched. My M1 Air still runs best on Big Sur despite trying all on OSes to date, with the worst being Monterey. The same goes with my old mid-2010 MBP, best on Snow Leopard, worse on Mavericks.

Our Macbook Air M1 with 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD arrived just yesterday evening. I updated it to Big Sur 11.1 and then proceeded to restore from a TimeMachine backup of our mac Mini M1 running Big Sur 11.1. It was a fresh TimeMachine on an USB-C SSD.

  11. When will Apple drop macOS support for M1 systems?

1,319. Mar 13, 2023. #17. It will probably run the latest macOS until about 2027 and then get two more years of security updates. But that's just an educated guess, it might be any year between ± 2025 and 2030. While most Macs get about 7 years of full support from their introduction date, there is a lot of variation.
