If you are using Edge, follow the steps below. 1. Open Edge and click on the three dots (...) at the upper-right part of it. 2. Click on Settings and click on "On Startup" at the left pane. 3. Click the radio button for Open a specific page or pages and click on Add a new page and paste the DuckDuckGo URL or link on it.

In Windows 10 - 21H1 - 19044.56 - Edge - 98.0.1108.56 - desktop, I have tried suggestions from MS about how to remove search engines, but the instructions are incorrect. A click on the 3 dots after search engine names does not display 3 options: make default - edit - remove, as MS states, only make default - edit. Remove option is not there.
