The Dingle Peninsula (Irish: Corca Dhuibhne; anglicised as Corkaguiny or Corcaguiny, the name of the corresponding barony) is the northernmost of the major peninsulas in County Kerry. It ends beyond the town of Dingle at Dunmore Head , the westernmost point of Ireland .
The town is on the northern side of the neck of the Dingle Peninsula, and is the largest town in County Kerry. The town's population was 26,079 as of the 2022 census, making it the 15th largest urban settlement in Ireland. Tralee is known for the Rose of Tralee International Festival, which has been held annually in August since 1959.
Local rail transport used to include the route along the Tralee and Dingle Light Railway. [3] Killelton Church , a medieval National Monument, lies 2.5 km (1.6 mi) to the east. The local Roman Catholic church, which is dedicated to Saint Mary, was built c. 1830 .
Inch (Irish: Inse, meaning 'river meadow') [1] is a small coastal settlement and townland on the Dingle Peninsula in County Kerry, Ireland. Inch Strand, in Inch townland, [2] is on a long sand spit and dune system which reaches into Dingle Bay. [3] The R561 regional road passes through the area.
