Originally located near West Olive (Port Sheldon) on Lake Michigan (1916–1927) it re-located to Duck Lake, near Whitehall, Michigan, in 1927 the property was acquired by the Nature Conservancy in the early 1970s and is now part of Duck Lake State Park. Rising above its east shore is Frontline Mountain and situated on a ridge above the west shore of the lake is the Doolittle Glacier.
