Psalmopoeus is a genus of the family Theraphosidae containing various species of tarantulas.The genus is native to Trinidad and Tobago, Colombia, Ecuador, Venezuela, Guyana, Brazil, Belize, Panama, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Mexico, Guatemala and Honduras.

Poecilotheria regalis is a species of arboreal tarantula and is found in parts of India. [1] The common name for this spider is Indian ornamental tree spider, or simply Indian ornamental. It is one of the most popular arboreal tarantulas for amateur collectors. Their leg span sometimes exceeds 7 inches (18 cm).
Tarantulas have four total spinnerets with the posterior being the largest. Due to P. Irminia being arboreal, they are known to produce large amounts of web. [4] The hairs on the tarantula are the most vital sensory feature. They act like receivers for vibrations through both the air and substrate.
In 2020, the genus was split, with a group of species (the "red rump" tarantulas) being moved to a new genus, Tliltocatl. As now circumscribed, the genus Brachypelma is found only in Mexico. Many species of both genera are popular with tarantula keepers as pets; the females in particular are long lived.
