Wasn't familiar with that one, and the slang dictionary doesn't have an entry with that meaning. But OED does, and has an interesting derivation chain starting from tail (posterior) -> a piece of tail (approx. prostitute) -> tail -> brass nail ( rhyming slang ) -> brass .
