It is one of the most expensive Afrikaans medium schools, the fee per child amounting to R 38 290 per annum (as of 2023). [1] [2] The National Department of Education named the school as the top academic school in Gauteng West and under the top 20 schools in the country. [3]
[12] It is often the case that the lower the cost of the school, the more likely a student is to attend. Developed countries have adopted a dual scheme for education; while basic (i.e. high-school) education is supported by taxes rather than tuition, higher education usually requires tuition payments or fees.

Krugersdorp (Afrikaans for Kruger's Town) is a mining city in the West Rand, Gauteng Province, South Africa founded in 1887 [2] by Marthinus Pretorius and Abner Cohen. [3] Following the discovery of gold on the Witwatersrand , a need arose for a major town in the west of the reef.
The city was founded in 1837 or 1838 [3] when the Voortrekkers settled on the banks of the Schoonspruit [3] ("Clear stream"), which flows through the town. Klerksdorp is the oldest European settlement north of the Vaal River, and thus of the former Zuid-Afrikaansche Republiek (Z.A.R), also known as the Transvaal Republic.
