The Rio Hondo League is a high school athletic league that is part of the CIF Southern Section. Members are located in the Pasadena area in the western San Gabriel Valley region of Los Angeles County. The league was created in 1962. [1]

Temple City High has a vast number of science competition teams. Their Science Olympiad team has place many times throughout its history, notably placing 3rd for 2024 and 2023 and 2nd for 2022 and 2020 for regionals. [6] Their Physics Bowl team in 2023 placed 1st nationally in all divisions and third internationally in all divisions. [7]

Lemoore College offers soccer, basketball, wrestling and soccer for men and volleyball, basketball, and soccer for women.
Rio Hondo College District was established in October 1960, encompassing the boundaries of Whittier Union High School District. [4] As it expanded to include the El Rancho Unified and El Monte Union High School Districts , it established a board of trustees in April 1962.
La Cañada High School has been named both a California Distinguished School and a National Blue Ribbon School.The U.S. Department of Education has recognized LCHS for “high achievement and exemplary programs”, for rich extracurricular activities, and for strong community support.
