The Lincoln LS is a four-door, five-passenger luxury sedan manufactured and marketed by Ford's Lincoln division over a single generation from 1999 until 2006. Introduced in June 1999 for the 2000 model year, the LS featured rear-wheel drive and near 50/50 weight distribution [1] and was available with a V8 or V6, the latter initially offered with a manual transmission.

Ford's history in the Philippines can be traced back to 1929. Ford Philippines, Inc. (FPI) was established as a subsidiary of the Ford Motor Company in 1967 and began production operations on May 3, 1968. Ford left the market in 1984 due to the local economic recession. The brand came back in 1997 as Ford Group Philippines, Inc. (FGPI).
4.6 L 4-valve DOHC InTech V8 installed in a 1996 Lincoln Mark VIII 4.6 L 4-valve DOHC supercharged V8 installed in a 2003 and 2004 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra. The 4-valve DOHC version of the Modular engine was introduced in the 1993 Lincoln Mark VIII as the 4.6 L Four-Cam V8. Lincoln marketed the engine under the name InTech after 1995. [9]
The Lincoln Y-block V8 engine was Ford's earliest OHV V8 engine, introduced by Lincoln in the 1952 model year. [2] Like the later and better-known but even more short-lived Ford Y-block engine , its block's deep skirts gave the block the appearance of the letter Y from the front.

The Lincoln Motor Company was founded in August 1917 by Henry Leland and his son Wilfred. Among the founders of Cadillac, Leland had sold Cadillac to General Motors in 1909; staying on as an executive, he left in 1917 over a dispute with GM President William Durant regarding war production.
A 1924 Lincoln was featured in the first season of the classic CBS sitcom The Good Guys. In the 1986 comedy movie, The Money Pit, the house came with a 1929-30 Lincoln L-series 4-door Sport Phaeton as a part of the purchase. A blue 1928 Lincoln L can be seen in the bridge scene in the movie The Untouchables.
