Queen Millennia (Japanese: 新竹取物語 1000年女王, Hepburn: Shin Taketori Monogatari: Sennen Joō, lit. "The New Tale of the Bamboo Cutter : Millennium Queen") is a manga series by Leiji Matsumoto [ 2 ] which was serialized from 28 January 1980 through 11 May 1983 in both the Sankei Shimbun and Nishinippon Sports newspapers.
In 1978, he was awarded the Shogakukan Manga Award for shōnen for Galaxy Express 999 and Senjo Manga Series.
