Huntsville is a town in Muskoka district, Ontario.It is located 215 kilometres (134 mi) north of Toronto and 130 kilometres (81 mi) south of North Bay.Of the three major Muskoka towns (the others being Gravenhurst and Bracebridge), Huntsville has the largest population (21,147 per 2021 census) and land area (710.64 square kilometres (274.38 sq mi)).

Despite its small size, Huntsville lies at the intersection of several highways. State Route 274 passes through the village, and State Route 117 's southern end is at Huntsville. Moreover, U.S. Route 33 passes on the southwest edge of the village, and the eastern ends of State Routes 366 and 368 are located just north of the village.

As of the 2020 United States census, the Huntsville Metropolitan Area's population was 491,723, making it the 2nd-largest metropolitan area in Alabama (behind only the Birmingham metropolitan area) and the 113th-largest in the United States. The term was first introduced in the Canada 2011 Census; prior to that, Statistics Canada used the term urban area. [ 1 ] In the 2021 Census of Population , Statistics Canada listed 300 population centres in the province of Ontario .
