The station, located near the Castle Hill Showground, serves the Metro North West & Bankstown Line and was built as part of the Sydney Metro Northwest project. The station is planned to eventually serve trains to the Sydney central business district and Bankstown as part of the government's 20-year Sydney's Rail Future strategy.
This line would form part of the North-South Link, running south from St Marys to the airport, before continuing on to the "Badgerys Creek Aerotropolis" – an area south of the airport. Funding for the line will be split 50:50 between the governments. [8] Construction began December 2022 on the Sydney Metro Western Sydney Airport.
