High Society Limited (German: Feine Gesellschaft - beschränkte Haftung) is a 1982 West German comedy film directed by Ottokar Runze and starring Elisabeth Bergner, Lilli Palmer and Hardy Krüger. [ 1 ]
High Society" is a multistrain melody, originally a march copyrighted in April 1901 by Porter Steele, which has become a traditional jazz standard. The piccolo obbligato is not found in Steele's first version of the song; it appears to have originated in an orchestration by Robert Recker from later in 1901. [1]
In March 1982 the Court handed down its decision. All eight participating justices had sided with the village, holding the ordinance valid and constitutional. Thurgood Marshall wrote the opinion, joined by all the other justices except Byron White, who wrote a separate concurrence. After reviewing the case, Marshall set out the court's task.

Porter Steele (December 12, 1880–December 20, 1966) was an American lawyer and musician, known as the composer of the march and later jazz standard "High Society".. He was born in Natchez, Mississippi, the son of Hiram Roswell Steele (1842–1929), who was Attorney General of Louisiana (1875-77) before moving to Natchez and then Brooklyn where he continued to practice as a lawyer.

High Society is the second collected volume, and first volume-length story, of Canadian cartoonist Dave Sim's Cerebus comic book series. It focuses mainly on politics, including Cerebus's campaign for the office of Prime Minister, in the fictional city-state of Iest in Sim's world of Estarcion.
High Society premiered at the American Conservatory Theater of San Francisco in an out-of-town tryout on September 4, 1997 and ran through October 5, 1997. [2] The musical began previews on Broadway on March 31, 1998 and officially opened on April 27, 1998 at the St. James Theatre. High Society closed on August 30, 1998 after 144 performances. [3]
