Plastisol inks will not dry, but must be cured. Curing can be done with a flash dryer, or any oven. Most plastisols need to reach a temperature of about 180 degrees Celsius (350 Fahrenheit) for full curing. Plastisol tends to sit atop the fabric instead of soaking into the fibres, giving the print a raised, plasticized texture.
Cure monitoring is, for example, an essential component for the control of the manufacturing process of composite materials. The material, initially liquid, at the end of the process will be solid: viscosity is the most important property that changes during the process. Cure monitoring relies on monitoring various physical or chemical properties.
Although thermal degradation is defined as an oxygen free process it is difficult in practise to completely exclude oxygen. Where this is the case thermal oxidation is to be expected, leading to the formation of free radicals by way of hydroperoxides. These may then participate in thermal degradation reactions, accelerating the rate of breakdown.

Silicones are formed from a Si–O bond, but can have a wide variety of side chains. [3] The silicone polymers are often made by reacting dimethyl dichlorosilane with water. [4] Linear dimethylpolysiloxane polymer reaction. Fillers such as acetic acid can provide a fast cure time, while oxides and nitrides can provide better thermal conductivity.
