In particular, this list considers a newspaper to be a weekly newspaper if the newspaper is published once, twice, or thrice a week.
Up until 1991, the paper had been published twice a week on Wednesday and Friday. In 1991, it began printing five days a week, Tuesday through Saturday, and in 1997, a Monday edition was added. As of 2003, the Chronicle became a daily paper with the addition of a Sunday edition.

The Western Gazette was founded in 1863 in Yeovil. [1] The first issue was published on 21 February, with a price of one penny. [3] In 1867, it merged with the Western Flying Post, which had been founded in Yeovil in 1743; the Western Flying Post had merged in 1749 with the Sherborne Mercury, which was first published in 1737.
