Ever an innovator, the Barbados Post introduced Registration and Money Order Services in 1861. For 112 years the Parliament Buildings of Barbados were the headquarters of the Barbados Postal Service from 1872 to 1984. At this location, there were a number of firsts for the Barbados Post. In 1874 the first stamps with values were introduced.

The British Packet Agency office was amalgamated with the Barbados Post Office in 1858. Six pence red and one-shilling brown-black stamps were ordered and sent to the island in October 1858. These stamps did show the value. Up till 1860 all the stamps were imperforate, [5] from 1860 the stamps were supplied perforated.

Christ Church South is a constituency in the Christ Church area of Barbados represented in the House of Assembly of the Barbadian Parliament since 2008 by Ralph Thorne, MP of the DLP after he crossed the floor from the Barbados Labour Party in February 2024. [1] [n 1] Since its founding in 1991 it has mostly been held by the BLP.
He is a member of Parliament in the Barbados Parliament and former Minister in the Ministry of Water Resources of Barbados in the government of Mia Mottley.
