The IUCN also lists 37 fish subspecies as least concern. Of the subpopulations of fishes evaluated by the IUCN, 44 species subpopulations have been assessed as least concern. This is a complete list of least concern fish species and subspecies evaluated by the IUCN.
Botiidae, the pointface loaches, is a family of cypriniform ray-finned fishes from South, Southeast, and East Asia. Until recently they were placed in the true loach family Cobitidae , until Maurice Kottelat revised the loaches and re-elevated this taxon to family rank in 2012. [ 2 ]
The pond loaches prefer a water pH of 6.5–8.0, but, as a temperate-climate freshwater species, will tolerate far more acidic conditions, even for extended amounts of time, with little negative reactions. This makes the pond loach a great choice for first-time aquariums and for those who want a hardy fish tank able to withstand a few mistakes.

Botia (Indian loaches) is a genus of freshwater fish in the loach family ().It was a large genus with about 20 species. In 2004 Maurice Kottelat proposed in his paper (along with the description of Botia kubotai, see References below) to divide the genus into four related genera based on fish appearance and locality:
Juveniles consume smaller fish, and adults will go on to devour bream, carp, and loach ― fish that are 33% of their own body length. Beetles, dragonfly larvae, and frogs are also prey for adult ...
