The Cedar Mountain Range is a short 20 mi (32 km) long, mountain range in southwest Luna County, New Mexico, USA, just north of the Mexico–United States border with Chihuahua. The range lies in the northwest Chihuahuan Desert and the extreme northwest end of the range lies in southeast Grant County.
The Lincoln National Forest is home to three major mountain ranges: Sacramento, Guadalupe and Capitan. [3] The three Ranger Districts within the forest contain all or part of a total of four mountain ranges, and include a variety of different environmental areas, from desert to heavily forested mountains and sub-alpine grasslands.
The Guadalupe Mountains reach their highest point at Guadalupe Peak, the highest point in Texas, [11] with an elevation of 8,751 feet (2,667 m). [12] The range lies southeast of the Sacramento Mountains and east of the Brokeoff Mountains. The mountain range extends north-northwest and northeast from Guadalupe Peak in Texas into New Mexico. [13]
