Baran has a high mastery of his crest and can transform into a Ryuumajin, the ultimate form of a Dragon Knight, which is a combination of a demon, human, and dragon.
Having learned of Dai's feats, Avan, a trainer of heroes, arrives at the island with his disciple, the magician Popp to become Dai's teacher, in preparation for the inevitable confrontation with the Dark Lord Hadlar, who rises once again with the intention to take over the world.
To honor Avan's final request, Dai, Popp and Gome leave the island and begin their quest to defeat Hadlar and his master to bring peace back to the world. During their travels, Dai's party gains three other members; the healer Maam, who later becomes also a martial artist, Hyunckel, one of Hadlar's former subordinates and Leona herself.
