The Church of St Peter is a Church of England Grade II* listed [1] church located on the east side of Wallsend, North Tyneside.It was constructed to replace Holy Cross Church, which had been built c. 1150 but had fallen into disrepair by the end of the 18th century.
To the east of the Burn is the old area of Holy Cross, which contains the ruins of a medieval church, the pre-war estate of Rosehill and the mainly post-war estate of Howdon.
