The 19th Arabian Gulf Cup (Arabic: كأس الخليج العربي) was the nineteenth edition of the biannual Gulf Cup competition. It took place in Muscat , Oman , from 4 to 17 January 2009, with Oman emerging as the winner for the first time in its history, [ 1 ] following a penalty shootout against regional rivals Saudi Arabia .
The idea for the tournament was established at the 1968 Summer Olympics, and the first Arabian Gulf Cup took place in 1970 which was won by Kuwait.Kuwait has been the most successful team in the tournament's history, winning 10 tournaments out of 25 in total, followed by Iraq with four titles, and Saudi Arabia and Qatar with three titles each.

The AGCFF Gulf Club Champions League (Arabic: دوري أبطال الخليج للأندية), formerly known as the GCC Champions League (Arabic: دوري أبطال مجلس التعاون الخليجي), is a regional football competition governed by the Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation (AGCFF) for clubs from its eight member nations.
Several preparatory meetings were held in 2015 using the working title Gulf Football Federation. [5] [6] The federation then was founded in 2016 as Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation to reflect the region's oldest competition: the Arabian Gulf Cup. [1] [7] [8] Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Bin Ahmed Al Thani of Qatar was named as the first president. [9]

The 2024–25 AGCFF Gulf Club Champions League is the 31st edition of the football competition for clubs from the eight member nations of the Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation (AGCFF). [1] It is the first edition of the competition organised by the AGCFF under its new name and format, with clubs from Iraq and Yemen participating for the first time.
