Alfred "Red" Barr (August 14, 1908 – June 12, 1971) was an American Hall of Fame swim coach for Southern Methodist University (SMU). He coached the Southern Methodist swimming team for twenty-four years from 1947 through 1971, where he led the Mustangs to seventeen Southwestern Conference Championships, including fifteen consecutive championships from 1957 through 1971.

Gaining valuable experience, Sinnott was an Assistant Coach at SMU from around 1980 to 1985 while the team finished in the top ten in the NCAA tournament in each of the years he was a staff member. [13] In a very early coaching position, he assistant coached both the Men's and Women's swim teams at Louisiana State University from 1985 to 1988. [13]
While at SMU, in 1989, Stillson was named the NCAA Men's Diving Coach of the Year and subsequently the NCAA Women's Diving Coach of the Year in 1990 and 1995.
