The Ridge Tool Company is an American manufacturing company that makes and distributes tools under the Ridgid brand name. The company was founded in 1923 in North Ridgeville, Ohio . [ 1 ] In 1943, it relocated to its current location in Elyria, Ohio , and in 1966, it became a wholly owned subsidiary of Emerson Electric .

The shortest SDS-plus masonry drill bits are about 110 mm overall length, and the longest 1500 mm. SDS-max is more common for larger rotary hammers and chipping guns, and common sizes start at 1 ⁄ 2 inch (13 mm) diameter up to 1 + 3 ⁄ 4 inches (44 mm) diameter. Standard lengths are 12 to 21 inches (300 to 530 mm).
A ratchet consists of a round gear or a linear rack with teeth, and a pivoting, spring-loaded finger called a pawl (or click, in clocks and watches [1] [2]) that engages the teeth. The teeth are uniform but are usually asymmetrical , with each tooth having a moderate slope on one edge and a much steeper slope on the other edge.
A brace is a hand tool used with a bit (drill bit or auger) to drill holes, usually in wood. Pressure is applied to the top while the handle is rotated. If the bit's lead and cutting spurs are both in good working order, the user should not have to apply any pressure other than for balance: the lead will pull the bit through the wood.
