The Kiryat Gat railway station (Hebrew: תחנת הרכבת קריית גת; Arabic: كريات جات) is an Israel Railways station in Kiryat Gat, situated on the Railway to Beersheba. It is located in the industrial zone in the east of Kiryat Gat. The station was first opened in July 1960, but was closed from 1979 to 1997.
In 2017, IWI announced it is planning to construct a new factory in Kiryat Gat, to which its manufacturing will re-locate when completed in 2020. The new Kiryat Gat factory, whose construction will cost NIS 180 million, will employ 560 full-time production workers and engineers on its assembly lines. [6]
